All Syracuse University students studying abroad in London were confirmed as safe after the attacks on Saturday night.

Syracuse University students studying abroad in London have been confirmed as safe by university officials, following two terrorist attacks that shook the city late Saturday night and left seven dead and dozens of others injured.

The university’s international risk management partner, International SOS, has advised students to avoid traveling to the London Bridge and Borough Market areas, where the attacks occurred.

“Exercise caution at all times in crowded public areas. Remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or suspect packages to the police,” said an International SOS alert, which was included in SU Abroad’s statement on the attacks. “Investigations may prompt localized incidents and security cordons in London or elsewhere.”

Around 10 p.m. London time on Saturday night, a white rental van ran down pedestrians on the London Bridge, according to The Guardian, before then traveling south to Borough Market where attackers left the van to stab several people in the area. Police shot and killed the attackers at the scene.

London police have made multiple arrests in connection to the terrorist incidents, per The Guardian. Theresa May, the United Kingdom’s prime minister, condemned “Islamist extremism” in a speech outside of 10 Downing Street Sunday morning in response to the attacks.

Faraday House — the SU London program’s center, where students take classes — is located in the Bloomsbury area of the city, according to the SU Abroad website, about two miles northwest of London Bridge and Borough Market.
